May 10, 2020 – Update on Coronavirus shutdown:

Pastor’s Corner:

Update on Coronavirus shutdown:

As many of you have probably heard, Governor Beshear has scheduled for churches to begin re-opening (not that he had a legal right to close us) on May 20th. Archbishop Kurtz is working on planning our re-opening with the Priests’ Council, and we should hear more from him next Monday (May 11). I am looking forward to getting back to offering public Masses and offering Divine Worship with all of you!

If we are limited in the number of people who can attend, or have regulations based on “social distancing,” we may be offering more Masses than normal –that’s one of the blessings of having three priests in a parish! In the meantime, please remember that the Lord Jesus wants to meet and heal us all in the Sacrament of Mercy (confession)!

And those who are elderly, or have a serious illness (like one of the “co-morbidity” factors that could make Covid-19 serious) can receive the healing grace of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick –all you have to do is ask, and one of us priests will be very happy to come to anoint you.

As you know by now, Fr. Tom Sullivan passed away on Monday, May 4th, of a probable heart attack. While the funeral Mass will be private, it will be live streamed at 10 am through the Father of Mercy website and/or youtube channel. We will plan to have a public Memorial Mass for him here at St. Helen / OLC once we are able to do so. Thank you for praying for the blessed repose of his soul!

Yours in the Merciful Lord Jesus,

Fr. Ben J. Cameron, CPMPastor, St. Helen & Our Lady of the Caves Churches
